An independent cinema film unpicking ten pivotal protest songs across five of the biggest motivators for protest: racial inequality, war and peace, gender politics, eco crisis and freedom. Each theme will explore the alchemy of protest song creation, and reveal whether protest songs have a tangible purpose or lasting legacy.  The film reveals the struggles inherent in protest music. The singers who sacrificed when they spoke out, and those who were pressured to mute their opinions. Do protest songs make a difference?
